The primary purpose of the NITI Aayog Internship is to provide short-term exposure to selected candidates within different verticals, divisions, and units of the Government of India. The internship aims to facilitate the engagement of young academic talent with NITI Aayog’s work for mutual benefit.
Objectives of the Internship:
- Provide young academic talent with insights into the functioning of the Government of India.
- Allow interns to contribute to policy formulation by generating inputs such as empirical analysis, briefing reports, and policy papers.
- Enhance mutual learning and collaboration between NITI Aayog and the interns.
Internships are conducted on-site in New Delhi. Eligible candidates include undergraduate students who have completed or appeared in the term-end exams of the second year or fourth semester, securing a minimum of 85% in their 12th class. Graduate students who have completed or appeared in the term-end exams of the first year or second semester, or those pursuing research/PhD with a minimum of 70% in their graduation, are also eligible.
Applicants in the final year of their graduation/post-graduation, awaiting admission to higher studies, may be considered for the internship if they have secured a cumulative score of 70% or more in all years/semesters. The internship duration is at least six weeks but not exceeding six months.
